Current Openings:

  • Graphics Representative/Updater (Independent Contractor)

    Must be comfortable in Photoshop, have the desire to "go the extra mile" to please the client, and be willing to provide outstanding support services to our schools in updating the graphic titles and photos their websites. Graphics updaters use existing website graphic .psd's and modify them to create new graphics for the website according to the client's requests. This is a remote(work from your home office) position. If this position interests you, please send your resume and graphics portfolio to info@schoolwebmasters.com.

    Job Description
    Work on contractor basis, a mininum of 2 hours per day (weekdays).
    Modify existing Web site graphics as per update.
    Create new graphics as per client instructions.
    Complete updates accurately according to client instruction, School Webmasters style, and best Web site practices.
    Coordinate with client as needed to complete update.
    Participate in ongoing training and development.

    Compensation
    Beginning pay is $10 per hour, increasing to 10.50 at end of training period (dependent on personal competency, usually 2-3 months), with annual review and possible subsequent increases. The pay for this position currently caps off at $13 per hour.

     

  • Content Representative/Updater (Independent Contractor)

    Must have an excellent grasp of grammar and punctuation, be intuitive, and willing to provide outstanding support services to our schools in keeping their websites current, informative, and professional.   • Copywriter (Independent Contractor)

Our writers not only write the copy for our school's websites, but they know what is considered "best practices" for an effective and informative school website. Their writing style must be conversational and inviting. They go the extra-mile in making a school's website an excellent public relations tool and effective communications resource. Please provide a resume and a sample of your writing (see "News Articles Wanted" below). Send it to info@schoolwebmasters.com.

Job Description
Research and gather client information for site content creation.
Write content and organize for placement.
Suggest titles and subtitles.
Suggest quotes and pull-quotes.
Ensure quality and accuracy within content.

Compensation
The following prices are an approximate amount. The final amount depends on the contract agreement we make with the client. The copywriter gets a set percentage of that contracted price.

Elementary School: $240 for a 6-8 page site
Middle School: $280 for an 8-10 page site
High School: $360 for a 10-12 page site
Small District: $560 for a 14-16 page site
Larger District: $800 for a 20-22 page site


  • News Articles Wanted

We are in immediate need of new boilerplate articles that we use on the News pages of our websites. If you would like to write one of these articles and we can accept it for use on our websites, we will pay you $25 for it. See the following guidelines:

Choose a topic that interests you that would also be of interest to parents of school age children; anything from helping your boys learn to enjoy reading to fun summertime activities to parent/teen relationships.
Please adhere to the Chicago Manual of Style.
Include links to helpful resources or studies about the subject.
Article should be one page or less.
Plagiarism is absolute taboo, so please be careful.
