It’s National Teacher’s Week, the one week each year set aside to officially appreciate and thank the many educators who help shape and inspire the minds that will run the future.

Doesn’t seem like enough time to thank them, does it?

Do you remember that one teacher who believed in you and your talents, who encouraged you to do more, think more, be more than you thought capable? Perhaps that teacher or mentor inspired you to go onto college, fulfill your potential, dream big, or follow your heart. Maybe you even became a teacher yourself.

Here at School Webmasters, we know that teaching is an extremely difficult profession. We ask teachers to do more with less; to improve test scores with fewer resources; to engage students with hands-on learning relevant to the changing culture while simultaneously expecting those ideals to fit into the narrow confines of state standards and an increasingly short school day.

We expect teachers to work miracles.

And everyday they do.

We’re inspired by the teachers we’ve worked with, the teachers who work for us, and the teachers who’ve helped shape us. From certified educators, to homeschooling families, to online faculty, this week and everyday, we here at School Webmasters know we wouldn’t exist without you.  We salute you. We honor you. We thank you.

We wanted to provide something to inspire the teachers who inspire us. The video clip below is from Sir Ken Robinson, speaking at a TED conference in February 2010. Sir Robinson discusses bringing about a learning revolution; a revolution that begins with people who follow their passion, listen to their spirit, and become educators. It’s about awakening that spirit in those we teach. It’s about possibility.

Thank you again teachers. For providing our future with endless possibilities.
