School Webmasters is based in Mesa, Arizona. Our woman owned and operated company was founded by Bonnie Leedy and her daughter, Tammy Carpenter early in 2003. We currently serve 500+ schools, districts, teacher sites, and local businesses. Using proprietary software developed to facilitate quick updates and cost savings, School Webmasters is able to make use of administrative and creative staff who are not developers or programmers. This allows us to provide ongoing support to schools and districts at prices that even small districts with limited budgets can afford.
With a very high customer-satisfaction rating and frequent client referrals, along with a steady, manageable rate of growth, School Webmasters is well positioned to provide continual outstanding service to its customers. We anticipate our future growth to continue at similar rates, and on-going training and recruiting programs are in place to manage our steady growth to assure continued excellence in service.
One aspect of our business model, of which we are quite proud, is the opportunity we provide to talented individuals who have the skills and work ethic to work from their home offices as independent contractors. These individuals, often moms who have put professional careers on hold while they raise their families, utilize their skills on a part-time basis as dedicated site administrators for our schools. These site administrators develop personal attachments to their assigned schools with a vested interest in assuring excellent customer care and upkeep. Our clients know they are receiving much more than a content management system but rather someone who is helping them utilize their Web site to its full potential. It's a win-win for our contractors (being able to work part-time from home without sacrificing family priorities) and our clients who enjoy old-fashioned service by real people who understand their school's unique needs!
Our administrators are involved in the various stages of each Web site development project. Together they assure that each client’s site presents the information in an intuitive navigational manner, personalized to reflect the school’s differentiators and style. In addition, there are many other members of the School Webmasters team who will be responsible for assuring the success of your Web site’s development, including graphic designers, layout designers, programmers, copywriters, proof readers, and sales professionals.
Prior to founding School Webmasters, Bonnie was a public relations and marketing communications director. She brings over 30 years of writing and communications experience to the role. She has authored business articles, web content, white papers, company newsletters, press releases, ghost authored articles for executives, and has even had some of her short fiction published.
As a former public relations director, her experience provides her with the ability to help schools and districts develop effective websites. She'll help you develop a site that serves as an effective communications resource that will improve your customer service while saving your staff time. Bonnie also provides valuable recommendations to school districts about how they can more effectively use this valuable resource including suggestions about site content, architecture, and best practices in website usage and strategy.
Bonnie is the mother of four grown children and proud Nana to nine grandchildren (all of whom are perfect and adorable, of course). She and her husband, Tim, have been married for 40 years, and he is an assistant superintendent. Tim serves as a consultant to School Webmasters with invaluable insight and perspectives on how to better serve our clients from an administrative perspective.
Manages the initial site strategy with the clients for development, pricing, and timelines. Oversees company-wide strategies for "best practices" school site development, including recommendations for content writing, research, recommendations, and information gathering from the client. Bonnie and her administrative team provides suggestions to assure that overall client project goals are met. She works closely with other company directors to assure consistency across the district for all the schools' sites, recommends individual page layout, coordinates customer content needs with designers to accomplish overall site goals. Coordinates with programmers for any other value-added or custom services required.
Bonnie works long and hard, quite happily we might add, to come up with enhancements for School Webmasters clients and to implement solutions that provide even better customer services. In the past few years the company, with the help of dedicated administrators and contractors, have added several new service lines including www.MyTeacherSites.org (affordable and easy-to-manage websites for teachers and classrooms), www.WeSupportOurSchools.com (website advertising pages to help school's generate revenue by providing affordable advertising space to local businesses on a school's website), www.LocalBizWebmasters.com (providing quality websites for businesses--with discounts to those who support education), creative services that provides schools and local businesses with marketing collateral, print, and design services and most recently adding a division for Social Media development and management for school districts.
